Freestyle Academy proudly presents
In our parody song entitled "Quarantine Bling" my partner Vinh Le and I explored the feeling of loneliness during an extended period of quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project was a bit of a challenge for us at first as it was our first time using the software "Pro Tools" to create a final project. After some trial and error, my partner and I were able to create a professional sounding final project by using a variety of different plugins and mixing techniques. If I had a chance to redo this project I would increase the quality of the vocals by using an external microphone as opposed to the headset microphone that I used at the time of this recording. I’m proud of how the final product ended up sounding considering that it was our first attempt at creating a full length song at Freestyle. The ideas taught to me during this project will be very useful in my future projects at Freestyle as we create more experimental music. Without knowing how to mix audio correctly, a great song could end up sounding horrible regardless of mic quality and I thought that this project was the perfect introduction to this. As an avid consumer of music, I have gained a lot of respect for other artists and music producers now that I fully understand the amount of work that goes into every song.
